Composer/Author applicant, have the following ready:

• Copy of ID/passport (if it’s a smart ID – both front and backside of the ID)
• Know the full names of all rightsholders (other composers /authors or publishers on the work)
• Know the share splits between all rightsholders
• R100 membership application fee

Publisher applicant, have the following ready:

• Copy of ID/passport of all directors (if it’s a smart ID – both front and backside of the ID)
• CK document (proof that the publishing company is registered with CIPC)
• Publisher Agreement/Contract between publisher and composers/authors
• Know the full names of all rightsholders (other composers/authors on the work)
• Know the share splits between all rightsholders (VERY IMPORTANT: Publisher’s share should not exceed 50% as per the Copyright law)
• R500 membership application fee
